Hey, I'm Jesse!
It started with my sister's Nokia. She got a new phone and gave me her old one. The only thing I cared about was the camera. I took pictures of everything. The street, my friends, random objects, whatever was in front of me. I was hooked from day one. That obsession never really went away. In pre-school I bought my first real camera. I was filming and editing on my grandma's laptop before I even knew what I was doing. My friends asked me to film and edit their YouTube video's. They would do the most ridiculous stuff, jump into thorny bushes, pull pranks, and hand me the camera to make it look good. I ended up going to film school. Learned everything from photography, editing, lighting, composition, audio to creative direction. But through all of it, YouTube was always on in the background. After graduating I started working with creators. Editing, producing, whatever they needed. Then one client asked me offhand if I also did thumbnails. I said yes, figured I'd work it out. That was it. Something clicked. The challenge of making people want to click a specific video over all the other ones. I couldn't get enough of it. I started studying what worked, what didn't, and why. I still do, every day. YouTube isn't just what I do. It's what I always think about.
